چکیده

Ontology and schema matching are well established techniques, which have been applied in various integration scenarios, e.g., web service composition and database integration. Consequently, matching tools enabling automatic matching of various kinds of schemas are available. In the field of model-driven engineering, in contrast to schema and ontology integration, the integration of modeling languages relies on manual tasks such as writing model transformation code, which is tedious and error-prone. Therefore, we propose the application of ontology and schema matching techniques for automatically exploring semantic correspondences between metamodels, which are currently the modeling language definitions of choice. The main focus of this paper is on reporting preliminary results and lessons learned by evaluating currently available ontology matching tools for their metamodel matching potential.

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems

Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...

A Feasibility Study on the Validation of Domain Specific Languages Using OWL 2 Reasoners

In this article we report on our experiences using the OWL 2 reasoners HermiT and Pellet to validate domain-specific languages defined using UML-like metamodels. Currently there exists few tools to validate metamodels. Using ontologies and reasoners to define and validate metamodels is a possible solution to this problem. We evaluate the reasoners according to expressiveness, correctness, perfo...

An Improved Semantic Schema Matching Approach

Schema matching is a critical step in many applications, such as data warehouse loading, Online Analytical Process (OLAP), Data mining, semantic web [2] and schema integration. This task is defined for finding the semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. Recently, schema matching has found considerable interest in both research and practice. In this paper, we present a new impr...

Interoperability of software Engineering Metamodels: Lessons Learned

Use of models and modelling languages in software engineering is very common nowadays. To formalize these modelling languages, many metamodels have been proposed in the software engineering literature as well as by standard organizations. Interoperability of these metamodels has emerged as a key concern for their practical usage. We have developed a framework for facilitating metamodel interope...

A procedure for Web Service Selection Using WS-Policy Semantic Matching

In general, Policy-based approaches play an important role in the management of web services, for instance, in the choice of semantic web service and quality of services (QoS) in particular. The present research work illustrates a procedure for the web service selection among functionality similar web services based on WS-Policy semantic matching. In this study, the procedure of WS-Policy publi...
